Sealing...

I finally managed to get around to resealing two of the compact rangefinders I acquired recently - a Vivitar 35ES, and a Canonet QL19 GIII.

The Canonet was probably the worst to reseal, with an arrangement topping even the perverse Ricoh 500G for awkwardness. The Canonet also had spectacularly stubborn glue on it :/ As my wife would doubtless point out, I could, of course, avoid all this by stopping purchasing cameras...

Anyway, I hope you'll allow me to offer you a useful resource - the first is at the Classic Camera Repair Forum, and is Jon Goodman's Resealing Guides. Jon, who also sells his sealing kits on eBay under the name "Interslice" markets an excellent and reasonably priced kit of foam seals which I cannot recommend highly enough - his email address is on the page linked there.
